The 1012 communicates with your computer through a standard USB cable. It does not print on its own. The toner price is about equal to most models. You can use a number of operating systems with it. It will work with Windows 98 through Windows Vista. Mac operating systems will also work. It will utilize any Mac operating system above 9.1. The printer is also an Energy Star compliant model. This is will allow for minimum electricity usage.

The print tray will hold 160 sheets. You can print many sizes with this model. It handles Legal, Executive, Letter A, A5 and B5. It will also print envelopes, cards, and labels.
